Making coffee creamer at home is super easy to do and can be a lot more cost-effective than buying store-bought coffee creamer.
Autumn is the best time to enjoy all things pumpkin spice, but with this simple five ingredient recipe, you can make it and enjoy it all year round.
What Makes A Good Creamer?
We love coffee creamer recipes that are simple, straightforward, and involve as little work as possible.
We nailed down the perfect Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer recipe that makes the perfect creamer base for any flavor to be added to.
Creamy Base
We like our creamers thick, rich, and as creamy as possible. We achieve this by using 2/3 part half & half with 1/3 part heavy whipping cream for the cream portion.
If you’re looking for a less creamy base, you can always try 2/3 part milk and 1/3 part Half & Half. This will have fewer calories and not be quite as thick, while still delivering the same milky taste.
If you’re wanting to make a dairy-free creamer we highly recommend substituting your cream base with oat milk. You can get oat creamers that will provide the same rich thickness as a dairy-based creamer.
There are also lactose-free creamers and heavy whipping creams available through companies like Silk that work perfectly for a lactose-free version of this pumpkin spice coffee creamer.
Sweetness
Sweetened condensed milk is an excellent sweetener as it adds a more creamy richness that other sweeteners just don’t give.
But, if you are looking for a sugar alternative, we suggest using Stevia Extract or Splenda to create a sugar-free creamer.
Flavor
Getting that perfect pumpkin spice flavor down is really what makes this recipe so perfect.
We wanted to incorporate both the delicious blend of spices that creates the classic pumpkin spice mix while also including the pumpkin.
We used the McCormick Pure Pumpkin Pie Spice blend extract which uses spice extracts of ground cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg. This extract perfectly blends into the creamer base and gives a bold flavor.
If you’re unable to find this in your local grocery store, using a powder pumpkin pie spice form also works, although you will need to mix it in for a bit longer than the extract.
To get the pumpkin flavor, we’ve gone to the source itself – pumpkin puree. You only need 1-2 tablespoons of the puree (based on your desired flavor profile) to mix in.
The puree will mix in simply by shaking the creamer in a mason jar, but for the smoothest and best results you can also use a hand blender or milk frother to blend in thoroughly.

Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer Recipe
Step 1:
Start by combining the half & half, heavy whipping cream, and sweetened condensed milk in your mason jar.
Using a spoon, mix the sweetened condensed milk in so it’s not just collecting on the bottom of the jar.
Step 2:
Once mixed, add the pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice extract. Put the lid on your mason jar and shake for 1-2 minutes or use a hand blender or milk frother – mix until smooth.
Label your creamer with the day you made it and the creamer’s expiration date (if the half & half and heavy whipping cream have different dates, mark the one that is closest to the current date).
Usually, creamers will last 10-15 days in the fridge, but always use caution if it appears to have spoiled before that time frame.
Enjoy by mixing it into your favorite coffee drink!

FAQ
Can You Buy Pumpkin Spice Creamer Year-Round?
It is very hard to find pumpkin flavored things on the shelves year-round. Some select grocery stores may stock it out of season, but not all.
That’s why having an easy and quick homemade recipe is super handy!
Does Pumpkin Spice Creamer Have Cinnamon In It?
Many do! Pumpkin spice is typically a mixture of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg.
Although our recipe does not have cinnamon as a direct ingredient, it is incorporated into the creamer within the pumpkin spice extract that is recommended.
Adding additional cinnamon might be preferred for some too!
Can You Use Pumpkin Puree To Make A Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer?
Yes! It’s the best way to get that delicious pumpkin flavor that is complimented so well by the pumpkin pie spice.
Just be sure to use real pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling! Pie filling includes spices, sugar, and other additives that you’re not going to want in your creamer.
Is Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer Dairy-Free?
You can make it dairy free! With our simple recipe, you can easily use dairy substitutes such as oat, almond, or soy milk.
Many coffee creamer brands offer dairy-free pumpkin spice coffee creamers and will often note that on the label of the creamer.
