- 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract
- Sweetener (optional)

The Process
Step 1:
Since this recipe is based on a cold brew drink, let’s start with brewing fresh cold brew.
Combine ground coffee and water in a large glass and leave the mixture in the fridge for 12-24 hours.
Step 2:
Drop a few ice cubes into a tall glass and pour cold brew over them. Because we think fresher is better, we recommend pulling out the cold brew coffee maker and making a fresh batch of chilled java the day before you plan to make this drink. However, you can use store-bought cold brew if you want to keep things easy.
Step 3:
Combine the coffee creamer or milk of your choice with about half a teaspoon of peppermint extract in a separate cup or frothing pitcher.
These ingredients make your drink creamy and provide the delicious peppermint flavor you’re craving. Then, use your milk frother to blend the two liquids into a layer of subtly minty foam.
Step 4:

How does Starbucks make peppermint cold brew?
There is no peppermint cold brew on the Starbucks menu. Thankfully, the coffee shop’s cold brew is customizable, so giving your serving of the signature cold brew blend a minty kick won’t be hard.
Just ask the barista to add a few pumps of peppermint syrup to your cold foam or directly into your coffee — or both if you want the taste of peppermint to be super-prominent.
Is there peppermint mocha cold brew?
Like the plain peppermint cold brew, peppermint mocha cold brew (that is, cold brew with chocolate AND peppermint flavors added) is not a Starbucks menu item. However, you can easily create your own by customizing your cold brew order.
Request a few pumps of mocha and peppermint syrups; the exact amounts will vary depending on your preferences. Feel free to add a layer of peppermint and/or mocha-infused cold foam to your drink, too.

Yes, you can add peppermint extract to iced coffee*. It’s an easy way to give your morning joe a minty-fresh upgrade. Besides, peppermint is good for you! The herb has been linked to easing symptoms of poor digestion, like gas, bloating, and indigestion. Plus, it may relieve headaches, improve energy levels, clear clogged sinuses, and more.
Should you decide to add peppermint extract to your iced coffee, remember less is more. A quarter to a half teaspoon of the stuff should be plenty; any more than that, and you risk drowning out the coffee’s flavor.

Fortunately, tea leaves steep more quickly than coffee grounds do. You can end up with a decent, drinkable cuppa in one or two hours. However, if you want more pronounced flavors, you should let the leaves steep overnight.
