What flavors come to mind when you think of fall? Pumpkin spice? Hazelnut? What about maple?
Maple is one of our favorite flavors to add to our morning coffee, especially during the autumn months, and plenty of java fanatics would probably echo that sentiment. That’s why drinks like Starbucks Coffee’s maple pecan latte are so popular; you’d be surprised what a bit of maple syrup can do for your favorite iced or hot coffee drink.
Fortunately, you don’t have to wonder if maple is worth the hype. You can try it for yourself, and we’ve got just the maple-flavored coffee drink for you to try.
Meet the Maple Cold Foam Cold Brew
If you’re a cold coffee person who wants to experience fall flavors all year long, we’re pretty sure you’ll love the maple cold foam cold brew. But don’t think you have to wait until September to try this drink. Even though maple joe doesn’t typically appear until autumn, this chilled coffee is perfect for helping you cool down during a mid-July heat wave.
This cup of coffee has undeniable strength thanks to the cold brew, milk (or creamer) makes the finished product creamy, and the maple syrup adds a bit of sweetness that’s especially perfect for those who aren’t fans of bitter black brews. Toss in a couple of ice cubes, and you’ve got a drink worth savoring. Sounds good, doesn’t it? We thought so, and that’s why we’re going to teach you how to make it.
What is cold brew anyway?
In the recipe below, you’ll notice we mentioned both iced and cold brew coffee. But aren’t they the same things?
Even though both are summer staples for java lovers on hot summer days, these drinks are different. Iced coffee refers to joe brewed hot, in an automatic drip machine, for example, and cooled in a refrigerator. Cold brew, however, is brewed differently. Leave coffee grounds steeping in cold water for 12 to 24 hours. Then, you use a mesh strainer or a piece of cheesecloth to strain the gritty ground coffee out of the brew.
Cold brew is the more caffeinated option between the two, and it tends to boast a stronger flavor since the grounds are in contact with the water longer.

Make Your Own Maple Cold Foam Cold Brew
You’ll Need:
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
- 1/2 cup of creamer or milk of choice
- Iced or cold brew coffee
- Handheld milk frother
- Tall glass and a separate glass for frothing
- Ice cubes
The Process:
Step 1:
Start by pulling out one of your glasses and pouring half a cup of your favorite creamer or cold milk. If you prefer your beverages rich and creamy, use heavy cream instead. Our lactose intolerant Roasty readers have plenty of non-dairy options to choose from, like almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, to name a few. Any of them will do just fine here.
Step 2:
Then, add maple syrup to the milk, and use your frother to mix the two cold foam ingredients until smooth.
Step 3:
Now, fill your second glass with ice and pour the cold brew into the cup. Feel free to use iced coffee instead of cold brew for a gentler caffeine kick.
Step 4:
Top the cold java with the maple syrup-infused foam, and you’re ready to enjoy your fall-flavored brew.
